Partial discharge monitoring provides information on the small electrical sparks that occur within the insulation as a result of aging or deterioration. Iris Power solutions help plan maintenance requirements prior to insulation failure and shorts.

Stator End-Winding Vibration Monitoring

Stator End-Winding vibration caused by loosening of the windings and thermal cycling can lead to fracturing of the copper conductors in the windings or faults due to insulation wearing. Iris Power solutions provide information on the location and severity of end-winding vibration in order for corrective actions.

Stator Wedge Tightness Testing

Loose stator wedges can lead to coil vibration and erosion of stator insulation. Iris Power stator wedge tightness testing provides a consistent and quantitative means of identifying the location and severity of loose stator wedges in order to plan rewedging or other necessary repairs.

Rotor Core Shorted Turn Detection

Rotor magnetic flux variations are the result of the degradation of the rotor winding insulation by mechanisms like load cycling, thermal aging and contamination. Iris Power provides solutions for measuring the magnetic flux in the generator in order to plan maintenance requirements.

Stator Core Lamination Integrity Testing

Stator core lamination integrity can be degraded through thermal and mechanical stresses. The Iris Power EL CID test detects shorted laminations and is the accepted world-wide solution for determining maintenance needs.

Shaft Voltage Monitoring

Shaft voltage occurs in electric motors and generators due to rotor winding ground fault, spikes caused by the rotor excitation system, magnetized generator parts and magnetic fields. Iris Power solutions provide information to plan maintenance in time to avoid damage to generator bearings, shaft journals, couplings, and gears.
